About Emma

Hi! Iā€™m Emma Bialecki (she/her) and I am a CAPPA-trained birth doula and a scientist at heart. Prior to becoming a doula, I was a forest ecologist, studying tree growth and learning how forest ecosystems respond to environmental change over time. Then I had babies, became enamored with birth, and now I study growth and development in humans instead(!) and am committed to providing an environment full of education, connection, and compassionate care.

After my first, albeit doulaless, pregnancy journey, I fell in love with pregnancy and birth. Following my second birth in April 2020, wherein my own doula was not able to attend in person due to pandemic restrictions, the itch to become a birthworker grew even stronger. I became acutely aware of how the support of a doula, even just virtually, was exactly what I needed to help me navigate the transition the second time around. And now I get to support birthing persons and growing families during this profound life transformation.

I love living in Chicago and am overjoyed to be serving the pregnant people of this city. On any given day you can find me biking through parks on the north side, playing tennis, reading, and cuddling my humans and 4 backyard chickens
